Los Angeles Nomadic Division [LAND] is an art organization producing collaborative artist and institutional projects, founded by Whitney Museum curator Shamim M. Momin and Christine Y. Kim of the Studio Museum. Matt Murphy Design was commissioned to create an identity for the organization and a suite of print and digital communications. For the organization’s debut at Art Basel Miami, MMD created logo key pendants as objects of recognition for patron’s contributions. The pendants were suspended like a sparkling cloud in a black space designed to provoke curiosity and conversation about the organization. Most booths featured artworks and objects in white spaces – the black LAND space’s simplicity, and strong graphic interactively helped to generate revenue, press, and interest.
