For CES (The Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, Spotify engaged MMD for UX & Creative Direction to help realize an activation designed to show advertisers how the music streaming service can expertly target customers. A ‘forrest’ grid of LED lighting synched with touch screens to tell stories of Spotify’s demographics and user trends. For example, you’d touch a user profile and hear their music selections which correspond to lighting around you - punk is red, reggae green, etc.
